From the equipment we use to the medications we offer, we perform every pet surgery with safety as our highest priority. General anesthesia can pose a certain degree of risk for even the healthiest pets, which is why we take every precaution to keep that risk low.

PRE-ANESTHESIA

Before placing your pet under anesthesia, we need to examine them thoroughly and run blood work to check their health. This includes body temperature, heart rate, organ function, and blood chemistry. These factors determine how we handle your pet’s anesthesia and pain management protocols.

MONITORING

Every surgery includes a skilled veterinary technician, who is responsible for monitoring your pet’s vital signs during the surgery. Our advanced monitoring equipment measures:

• Heart rate
• Respiratory rate
• Blood pressure
• Temperature
• Oxygen saturation
• CO2 levels

If our equipment detects any changes in the above values, we can quickly adjust your pet’s anesthesia levels, fluid support, and other medications to accommodate these changes.

When you arrive, you will receive a list of care instructions to assist you with your pet’s recovery at home. We are also happy to answer any questions you have about your pet’s surgery and what should be expected in the following days.
